Why [adult swim] Rules
Cartoon Network morphs into [adult swim] every night from 11pm-6am. I’m usually out by 1am or so, but I do love my [adult swim]. The toons rule, but it’s the ‘bumps’ that really crack me up. The must have some mega nerds over there, cause there was a bump tonight that ended with:
w3 R0X0RZ!!! \/\/3 l<1(3l) j00

That rules..31337 to the MAXXX!!
Google: It’s The Little Things…
Google is constantly adding services and features to it’s lineup that make life on the net more enjoyable. The obvious ones are things like Google Images, Maps, and Local - but it’s the little things I really enjoy. For example: the newish spell-check feature of the Google Toolbar. At first I overlooked this feature, not thinking much of it. It wasn’t until today that I realized this was a very elegant solution that fills a large gap in the WordPress blog engine. There is no integrated spell-checker in WordPress. I am constantly typing too fast and I end up with typos that I have to go back and fix, but now I can hit a single button on the Google Toolbar and the entire post form is spell checked! Pretty neat…now I just need to remember to spell check before I publish articles.
Mad props to the Google geniuses and their spell check feature!
Battlestar Galactica in HD!
Just happened to be channel surfing and discovered Battlestar Galactica on NBC in High Definition! Sw33t! Unfortnately, it looks like it is only a promo for the second season which starts next Friday. How bittersweet to have experienced Galactica in HD, only to have to watch season two on junky digital cable.
Battlestar Galactica is a great series adaptation of the original. The Cylons are a lot smarter and meaner and have the meat sacks (humans) on the run. For more info, czech out the official site: CYLENCE!
Bluetooth DUN at 70mph
We’re on the way back from a short vacation to visit the folks, cruising up HWY101 at 70 miles an hour thru Paso..whilst connected to the net at 100kbps via bluetooth. Isn’t technology great? Getting bluetooth DUN to work on a Sprint Treo 650 isn’t exactly the easiest thing to accomplish, especially since I’ve been required to re-pair the Treo and Computer ever time I try to activate the connection. However, the payoff is worth it - the data connection is solid and seems to be running well at around 80-100kbps. Not exactly broadband, but it gets the job done. Reading email and RSS feeds actually feels quite zippy.
The neat part is that this is really only 2.5G mobile data. Verizon has already rolled out most of their 3G data network and Sprint is just getting started. Maybe next summer I will be surfing at 600kbps while on the road…suddenly those 5 hour road trips become a very productive surfing safari!
