Cheap Uber Orbs (Magnetoids)
Whenever my birthday or Christmas draws near, I hit up ThinkGeek for some virtual window shopping. Last year, I saw these really kool strong magnets that looked like polished hematite orbs. Twenty bucks seemed like a pretty reasonable price for these nifty magnets, so I put them on “the list” and promptly received them as a Christmas gift.
Just recently a Dollar Tree store opened near me and since I was borrrred (as usual) one day, I stopped in to have a look at the BUCK JUNK. Then, lo and behold, I see “Snake Eggs” for a buck. These look mysteriously like my $20 Uber Orbs. I figured I didn’t have much to loose at a buck a pop, so I grabbed one. Turns out these $1 snake eggs are pretty much the same exact thing, but slightly smaller a little stubbier than the $20 Uber Orbs.
Here’s a comparison of the two (snake eggs on top):

The packaging on the Snake Eggs is totally cheesy, but they work great.
Deal Alert! $400 Professional Camera for $24.98!!
I was bored a few days ago so I decided to pop into the local Burlington Coat Factory to check out the scene. I quickly found out that this store was pretty weak, so I decided to skate on out of there. However, I did find a killer deal on the way out:
OLYMPIA Advanced Camera (for your Professional Requirements)
Regular price of $399.99….but only $24.98….WHAT A DEAL….or not….the box must have weighed about 1/2 a pound. That camera must have been made from recycled plastic from port-a-potties or something.
It’s pretty amazing that retailers can get away with stuff like this:

I hope nobody falls for that nasty little trick.
