Server Room Relocation
Some time ago, I was fortunate enough to head up a team effort to relocate the data center for a medium sized business in the Bay Area. It sounded simple enough – move all of the network gear and servers to a new location, reconnect everything, test, and go home. The project ended up taking the better part of a weekend, but in the end, we had a fresh, clean data center that looked and ran extremely well.
The move involved about 12 switches, 4 or 5 routers, and about 25 servers. We worked pretty hard to get everything moved in, properly mounted, and hooked up. We were pretty proud of our work and took a few pictures along the way.
